Overview
Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We are united in our mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. We strive to create an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment where we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all backgrounds, and design programs to promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.
Responsibilities
The Center for Population Sciences at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is looking to hire a self-motivated individual for a non-laboratory research assistant position. The research assistant will work with a medical oncology researcher who focuses on health services and outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies. One specific project is testing a human-in-the-loop avatar to help educate patients during their hospital stay; another is the Older Adult Hematologic Malignancy (OHM) program, in which the research assistant will assess older patients presenting in the blood cancer clinic for frailty. The research assistant will also assist with other projects as they arise. This is an excellent opportunity for a person who is applying for graduate school in the medical field within the next two years and wants hands-on research experience.
