The Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst will support process and infrastructure improvements to the revenue cycle that contribute to favorable financial results and operational efficiencies throughout the Institute.  The position will provide research and analytic support for various revenue cycle (and related) projects.  Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are essential.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle Operations to identify areas of improvement within the revenue cycle to maximize revenue while complying with payer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of data and information relating to existing or proposed revenue cycle projects.
  • Summarize analytic and research findings into graphs, charts, written summaries, and presentations for review by leadership and explain/interpret results upon request.
  • Provide support to existing revenue cycle related forums by managing agendas, maintaining minutes, and facilitating next steps, including inter- and intra-departmental communication.
  • Assist with the development, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation of key revenue cycle initiatives.
  • Work with clinical areas to assess new programs or initiatives, evaluating Medicare and commercial insurance coverage, clinical and documentation obligations, and billing requirements to ensure appropriate payment. Engage other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Support ongoing strategic initiatives that impact Dana-Farber programs with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Satellite Centers, and Dana-Farber Community Cancer Care practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical areas to facilitate workflows that support clinical operations, including new patient access, registration, and check-in.
  • Provide analytic and process implementation support for cross-functional initiatives relating to the electronic medical record and revenue cycle systems.



  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Wordand PowerPoint. Experience withand Visio, Tableau, and Epic preferred.
  • Strong excel skills, including ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy of all analytics before delivering end-results.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to identify and prioritize key pieces of information.
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent projects in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.


Bachelors of Science/Arts and 2+ years related experience required.   Masters Degree (MPH, MBA, or Master’s Degree in health care management or related preferred.
