Overview
The Fischer Lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a Structural and Chemical Biology Lab that combines molecular biology, computational biology, structural biology and chemistry with various ‘Omics’ techniques to study the pathways and protein complexes involved in the regulation of protein homeostasis often associated with human diseases, including cancer. Using our knowledge of the cellular degradation machinery, we use structure and computational guided approaches to develop new molecules that hijack the ubiquitin proteasome system for targeted protein degradation.
The Fischer lab (https://fischerlab.dana-farber.org/) seeks a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Research Technician/Administrative Support who will work closely with, support and assist Dr. Katherine Donovan in the management of the targeted protein degradation initiative, as well as proteomics operations of the Fischer lab, the TPD proteomics core and other aspects of the chemical biology program. This individual will be an important member of our research team and in addition to providing administrative support, will collaborate with scientists, postdocs and students on a variety of different research projects focused on targeted protein degradation as a novel therapeutic modality. While we consider various backgrounds, a strong interest in mass spectrometry-based proteomics is highly desirable.
Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute brings together world-renowned clinicians, innovative researchers and dedicated professionals, allies in the common mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. Combining extremely talented people with the best technologies in a genuinely positive environment, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all ages; we conduct research that advances treatment; we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers; we reach out to underserved members of our community; and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.
