Overview
Senior Scientist (Bandopadhayay and Beroukhim Labs)
The Bandopadhayay Lab (www.bandolab.org) and Beroukhim Lab (www.beroukhimlab.org) at DFCI (with co-affiliations with Boston Children’s Hospital and the Broad Institute) are jointly seeking a Senior Research Scientist to spearhead multi-disciplinary efforts to identify and characterize novel therapeutic approaches for children diagnosed with pediatric gliomas. We apply cutting-edge genomic technologies to identify drivers of childhood cancers, identify strategies to target these and to determine mechanisms of resistance to current and novel treatments. The aim of these efforts is to perform translational research to develop new therapies to improve outcomes of children diagnosed with these tumors. The work will be highly translational and span efforts functional genomic methodologies to determine oncogenic mechanisms and identify new dependencies, studies to evaluate efficacy of small-molecule inhibitors, preparation of single-cell/single-nuclei libraries for next-generation sequencing, and studies to characterize mechanisms of glioma formation, and resistance of brain tumors to therapeutic strategies.
