Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
This project leadership role provides strong project management knowledge and proven experience for the IS department and the institute. The focus of this position is: 1) to serve as a senior project manager for large-scale initiatives, 2) represent the Project Management Office (PMO) with the use of the PMO’s proven methodologies and tools, and 3) to support DFCI staff in project management best practices through coaching, mentoring, and training. These skills will be leveraged to assist in the use and continued improvement of standards throughout DFCI. Standards include project charters, schedules, system deliverables, processes, etc. The incumbent will assist teams in project design; aid in the periodic review and auditing throughout a project’s lifecycle; and guide projects in process content, application of tools, and knowledge management.
Incumbent will report to the Manager of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) Information Services (IS) department Project Management Office (PMO). Work responsibilities include the management of large projects identified by DFCI IS leadership, using the PMO’s established project management methodology.
This role will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including IT technical staff, business analysts, institute leaders and external vendors/teams throughout each project, and will manage feasibility, scope, requirements, and schedules to ensure project success.
The estimated duration of this position is 24-36 months.
