Overview

This job family is key to the completion of clinical research studies within the Institute. These positions work closely with investigators, research nurses, clinical research coordinators, and biostatisticians to maintain the integrity of DF/HCC’s clinical research database.  It requires increasingly more complex and independent contributions by technically skilled and knowledgeable data analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient accrual and registrations for in-house protocols.
  • Maintains clinical trial database, including collecting, and computerizing data.
  • Designs clinical research forms for data collection.
  • Quality control all forms pertaining to protocols, and reporting of questions, discrepancies and violations to protocol investigator and collaborating institutions.
  • Will conduct basic analysis of descriptive data and provide increasingly more sophisticated reporting of study progress/results as needed by the study team.
  • Maintains follow-up status of patients in the database.
  • Develops logic checks and ensures integrity of data in the research database.
  • Produces monthly/quarterly checks for missing data and study updates.
  • Cleans data using SAS programming prior to biostatistical analysis or reporting data.
  • Generates query reports for clinical research associates/coordinators.
  • Coordinates study team meetings as needed throughout the conduct of the clinical trial.
  • May participate in grant application process, audits, and manuscript preparation as directed.

Qualifications

Bachelors of Science/Arts required.  2+ years experience or Masters degree (MPH, Biostatistics, Social Sciences, other relevant fields) with no experience.  Experience working in a scientific research setting or comparable technology-oriented business and clinical trial experience required.  Knowledge and/or experience in research methods or programming or clinical trial research is preferred.  Excellent English language reading, writing, and speaking skills required
