Overview

This position is Tuesday-Saturday from 7am-3pm and is eligible for our Weekend Shift Differential.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, preventive maintenance and repair of equipment for the generating, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
  • Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
  • Working from blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications.
  • Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Use a variety of electrician's hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.
  • Requires good working knowledge of Massachusetts State Electrical Code.
  • Responsible for maintaining records of work done, time records and P/M records through the CMMS system.
  • May be required to be on call.
  • Must provide the highest level of personal protection at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate
  • Holds a current Journeyman or Master Electrical license.
  • Worked as a licensed electrician a minimum of 5 years.
  • Mechanical knowledge of occupational machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • The ability to arrange assignments or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule, procedure, or guideline.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to utilize tools of the trade.
  • The ability to communicate information and listen to and comprehend information and ideas.
