Overview
Community Health programs further DFCI’s community outreach mission by addressing the needs of historically marginalized and at-risk populations to reduce health disparities in cancer and to increase awareness about prevention, screening, early detection, and clinical trials. Working under the supervision of the VP of Community Health and the Program Manager, the Senior Mammography Program Coordinator will be highly visible in the community and will be the face of DFCI. Additionally, the Senior Mammography Program Coordinator at Whittier Street Health Center will be working in partnership with the health center to address the structural barriers preventing Boston-area residents from receiving breast cancer screenings in Roxbury and surrounding neighborhoods.
This position has as its primary responsibility the day-to-day operations of the DFCI mammography suite at Whittier Street Health Center and therefore requires a high level of independence, resourcefulness, and proactive attitude. The Senior Mammography Program Coordinator role includes approaching patients with cultural competence and tailoring interactions with care and compassion. The coordinator will use various office software to prepare for and execute the clinic day. This position also requires knowledge of the Institute’s practices and policies and serves as a liaison internally and externally to provide comprehensive mammography services.
