The Center for Functional Cancer Epigenetics (CFCE) is dedicated to the
exploration of the key role that epigenetic alterations and abnormal transcriptional regulation play in the development and progression of cancer. A better understanding of these alterations will lead to better diagnosis for cancer and contributions to the knowledge required for the development of new therapeutics exploiting epigenetic mechanisms. The Center’s organization and leadership represents a very tight coupling between wet-lab and informatics efforts that provides an unprecedented opportunity to advance the field.
The Research Technician will perform experiments under the supervision of
the leading team and will be focused on projects that elucidate epigenetic and transcriptional regulation in wide variety of cancer models. This will involve a variety of genomic techniques including RNA and DNA extraction, nuclei isolation, single cell technology, spatial transcriptomics and ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq. In addition, the candidate will have some lab managerial tasks, such as reagents ordering among other paperwork to fill up. The candidate will support current team goals and practices by producing high-quality data, being actively involved in troubleshooting experiments, maintaining a comprehensive lab notebook and managing computer data files.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology or chemistry, with no prior professional experience necessary. Candidates will learn and apply technical principles, processes, and concepts, use institutional policies to address routine issues, and work on problems of limited scope. The role involves following standard practices to analyze situations or data and building stable internal working relationships.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No supervisory responsibilities. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

Pay Transparency Statement
The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
