Overview
Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We are united in our mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS, and related diseases. We strive to create an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment where we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all backgrounds, and design programs to promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.
This is an ideal mid-level position in the world of cutting-edge cancer research. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging research environment, and can interact well with others as part of a cohesive team.
Our group studies the pathobiology of myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloid malignancies, using a combination of quantitative proteomics, genetic and chemical screens, protein biochemistry, and cell-based assays. We aim to comprehensively characterize oncogenic phospho-signaling in myeloid neoplasms; to define genetic dependencies associated with recurrent oncogenic drivers; and to leverage our understanding to inform targeted therapies for adult and pediatric patients with myeloid neoplasms.
The individual in this position will work under supervision and independently as part of the investigative team in the Belizaire Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The wet lab environment will include work at the bench and in the tissue culture hood with appropriate personal protective equipment; there will also be occasional work with toxic and biohazardous substances in a fume or laminar flow hood with appropriate personal protective equipment.
At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we work every day to create an innovative, caring, and inclusive environment where every patient, family, and staff member feels they belong. As relentless as we are in our mission to reduce the burden of cancer for all, we are committed to having faculty and staff who offer multifaceted experiences. Cancer knows no boundaries and when it comes to hiring the most dedicated and compassionate professionals, neither do we. If working in this kind of organization inspires you, we encourage you to apply.
