Overview

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations Improvement and Transformation reports to the AVP of Supply Chain and leads process improvement across Supply Chain Management through systems optimization, technology enablement, and data-driven reporting. The role partners across SCM and DFCI to identify opportunities, solve complex operational challenges, and drive adoption of improved workflows. They develop and execute roadmaps, timelines, and supporting materials, working with Institute teams using the Workday platform to implement solutions that align people, process, and technology. The Senior Manager provides guidance to SCM leadership on operational matters through creative thinking, metrics, and ownership for outcomes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with the AVP SCM and Business Owners in Research, Finance and Human Resources and uses subject matter expertise to evaluate, assess and develop high-quality integrated transformational processes from conception to execution in the Workday system environment.
  • Collaborates with the AVP of Supply Chain Management and SCM Workstream leads serving as the Domain Support Lead for Workday Supply Chain and other enterprise supply chain systems.
  • Leads end-to-end process improvement initiatives from assessment through system deployment and optimization.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to SCM leadership, providing data-driven recommendations and transformation roadmaps.
  • Develops and maintains enterprise-level reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Partners with Information Systems to establish benchmarks, KPIs, and standardized reporting frameworks. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, system adoption, and data integrity.
  • Provides direct leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight for two Supply Chain Analysts in support of operational improvement initiatives.
  • Supervises staff. Hires, develops, and manages staff to achieve organizational goals. Sets clear expectations, delivers feedback, and monitors performance for quality, efficiency, and compliance with policies and procedures. Mentors staff, fosters career growth, and cultivates a positive and productive work environment.

  • Continual process improvement, identify process and systems to create efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Willing to think outside the traditional paths, iterate, learn and try again.
  • A change agent, willing to make informed decisions, adjusting to changes as needed while respecting the dignity of each person affected.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
  • 6+ years of experience with Operations improvement experience required.

License/Certification/Registration Required: None

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

  • Directly supervises two Supply Chain Analysts.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
