Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of quality and performance analytics solutions, including scoping, requirements gathering, data sourcing, build, validation/QA, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and ongoing maintenance for multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Partner with clinical, operational, and departmental stakeholders (e.g., Nursing Quality, Infection Control, Clinical Operations, Enterprise Data & Analytics, Patient Experience) to define measures, align reporting to organizational goals, and communicate timelines, risks, and decisions; escalate issues appropriately to support on-time delivery.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms that monitor quality, safety, utilization, and patient experience outcomes; identify trends and performance gaps and support stakeholders with actionable interpretation of results.
• Manage external quality, regulatory, and pay-for-performance reporting deliverables (e.g., PCHQR, QPP, MassHealth HQEIP), including data preparation, platform submissions, validation/reconciliation activities, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Build and optimize robust data sources and analytic assets by identifying/documenting requirements and sources; writing and tuning SQL; and collaborating with Enterprise Data & Analytics to align with enterprise standards, improve data quality, and promote reuse across the Institute.
• Support benchmarking and comparative analytics, including Vizient and other collaboratives; maintain/enhance data feeds as needed and contribute analyses that inform performance improvement priorities and strategic goals.
• Provide analytic support to quality improvement initiatives (e.g., metric definition, baseline/post-intervention analysis, visualization of outcomes) and deliver training and enablement to promote consistent interpretation and effective self-service use of reports and dashboards.
• Collect, interpret, and present Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) data, including metrics related to patient safety, infection control, blood product utilization, patient experience, patient volume, and utilization of services.
• Manage QAPI scorecards and dashboards; work with leadership and stakeholders to identify performance gaps, monitor trends, and support improvement efforts.
• Mentor colleagues within the division and beyond, advancing the capabilities of the team to support current and future analytical needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization concepts, including dashboard design, usability principles, metric definitions, and effective storytelling with data.
• Demonstrated ability to write and optimize SQL to build reusable datasets; ability to validate data and troubleshoot discrepancies across source systems and outputs.
• Experience with Tableau (or comparable BI tool) including building interactive dashboards, publishing content, managing extracts/data sources, and applying performance best practices.
• Knowledge of data governance practices, including documentation, lineage, version control, and change management for production reporting.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed clinical environment, building productive partnerships across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, set workplans, anticipate risks, and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to translate ambiguous questions into measurable definitions and practical analytic approaches.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings clearly to varied audiences (front line, operational leaders, and executives).
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and operational reliability of production reporting.
• Professional discretion and sound judgment when working with sensitive, confidential, and/or protected information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Informatics, Health Information Management, Health Policy/Management, Public Health, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, STEM or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 3 years of experience in analytics, quality, and/or performance improvement, including 1 year in a healthcare setting; demonstrated experience using SQL and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) to build dashboards and reusable data assets.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Tableau Analyst certification within 6 months of hire (or equivalent BI certification as determined by the department).

Pay Transparency Statement
The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
