Overview

The Bernstein Laboratory answers fundamental questions about the epigenetic regulation of cellular state, and how these systems go awry in cancer. With this goal in mind, we have pioneered approaches to profile and perturb the epigenome, including at single cell resolution.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will contribute to and lead research projects, think independently and make original intellectual contributions. Research technicians in our laboratory regularly present their own work and contribute to the writing of papers and grant applications. We view a research technician as a mentored training position, with a primary goal being the professional development of our technicians. Prior technicians have successfully pursued a variety of subsequent career directions including obtaining MDs, PhDs, MD-PhDs, and direct entry into industry.

The successful candidate will join the team of Prof. Brad Bernstein working primarily with postdoctoral researcher Dr. Alba Rodriguez-Meira, and will also assist with general lab management when needed. Our group spans the Department of Cancer Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, with extensive collaboration across these institutions. This position requires full-time on-site presence.
