Join Dana-Farber as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and help shape the future of proton radiation therapy. This role offers the opportunity to advance innovative approaches in treatment planning, adaptive treatment delivery, and patient immobilization, with direct application to a next-generation gantry-less proton therapy facility now being built.

You’ll contribute to groundbreaking work in upright-position treatment and simulation, supporting technology that could redefine how proton therapy is delivered and expand what is possible in precision radiation oncology. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Fellow independently carries out and designs highly sophisticated and independent experiments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research, develops, designs, executes and interprets research experiments.

  • Contributes to scientific literature, reports, journals and presentations.

  • Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.D. in Physics, Medical Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field is required.

  • Experience in radiation treatment planning, advanced data analysis and proton radiation therapy is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Strong research design and analytical skills.

  • Strong database statistical skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of field of research.

  • Excellent time management/organizational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
