Overview

The Associate Director of Philanthropy Web & AEO/SEO Strategies is responsible for managing Division-wide web strategies and major projects that promote the Dana-Farber and Jimmy Fund brands. This role involves developing and executing marketing web strategies across various platforms, including user experience (UX), AEO/SEO, accessibility, and digital design optimizations, to support fundraising efforts and enhance brand visibility. The role will oversee special high-priority projects aimed at advancing critical business, as well as advise teammates on overarching best practices and digital strategies.

Primary to this position, the Associate Director will lead specialty web projects, including the design, build, and deployment of Philanthropy-focused website aligned with all accessibility, compliance, and web governance requirements. This role will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing new AEO and SEO strategies across a suite of websites, marketing landing pages, and web forms, as well as managing AEO/SEO monitoring platforms, leading planning and implementation of optimizations.

Position will include responsibilities such as:
•Project management
•UX and design optimizations and execution
•Information Architecture (IA) tasks such as wireframing and site mapping
•Development and launch of an AEO/SEO monitoring platform and strategy

This is a 24-month term position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

•Strong understanding of AI Engine Optimization (AEO) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) required, including strong knowledge of web metrics and reporting tools.

•Strong knowledge of web marketing strategies, testing, and reporting. Strong understanding of user experience and personalization strategies.

•Excellent project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Strong knowledge of website development and production, including experience with front-end web development and web content management systems.

•Proficient coding skills, including understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design techniques. Preferred experience with Acquia and Drupal

•Experience developing and implementing accessibility strategies and ADA compliance best practices.

•Experience with or knowledge of CRM software. Blackbaud Luminate Online preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement marketing strategies and plans to help teams reach target audiences and exceed revenue and participation goals. Lead strategic planning and brainstorming sessions for new marketing projects and campaigns. Collaborate with assigned teams to ensure marketing tactics align with goals and serve as the main account lead. 

Project Management: Oversee creative execution and production of marketing collateral from concept through completion. Liaise with Philanthropy staff to execute media buys and digital marketing efforts. Produce in-depth wrap-up reports with detailed analysis to inform future marketing recommendations. 

Content Development: Research, write, and edit a variety of documents, including articles for donor newsletters, marketing collateral, advertising copy, and digital content. Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and AP style.

Marketing: Strong marketing and advertising knowledge. Ability to develop branding and writing strategic marketing plans. A full understanding of donor and consumer behaviors, marketing, advertising, and other creative professional experience.  Ability to infuse values of equity and inclusion into marketing strategy and tactics.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills. 

Organization: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Solid organizational, project management, and multi-tasking abilities skills, with an aptitude for prioritizing tasks. Strong attention to detail. Effective and efficient time-management abilities. Strong ability to be resourceful and self-initiate tasks.

Judgement: Exceptional ability to exercise judgement, maintain confidentiality, and act with discretion when working with a variety of stakeholders. 

Data Analysis: Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used for decision-making. 

Computer Literacy: Strong knowledge of development databases, and Microsoft Office applications, with excellent Excel skills. 


Minimum Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.   6+ years of relevant work experience.

Special Working Conditions:

This position's work location is fully remote with occasional time on-campus in Brookline, MA. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
